Why I Started ILLUMA CANDLES
ILLUMA CANDLES was born during one of the most difficult seasons of my life as a parent. After my son was found following a frightening period when he was missing, the fear and uncertainty did not simply disappear. My family entered a challenging new chapter, and I was trying to support him while carrying the constant worry that something could happen again.
I searched for help and support, but there were still many moments when I felt powerless and unsure of what to do. My anxiety was overwhelming, and I experienced panic attacks while trying to hold everything together for my family.
Candle making became my peaceful escape from the chaos. Measuring the wax, blending fragrances and watching each candle take shape gave my mind something positive to focus on. It did not erase what I was experiencing, but it provided moments when I could breathe, feel grounded and regain a sense of calm.
I would listen to music while making candles, and certain fragrances began bringing me back to comforting childhood memories and special moments with my grandfather. Through scent and music, I could reconnect with feelings of safety, love and familiarity. In those moments, the chaos around me became quieter.
What began as a personal creative outlet eventually grew into ILLUMA CANDLES.
