From Pause to Purpose: Reigniting the Flame at Illuma Candles

It’s been a little while since our last blog post—back in March, we shared the magic of Rose Quartz and Crystal Quartz. Since then, life has taken me through a season of growth, stillness, reflection—and now, renewal. I wanted to open up about what’s been going on behind the scenes here at Illuma Candles.

Facing Challenges Head-On

Shortly after we launched our newest scent—Cherry Blossom Serenity—business slowed down. As much as I loved that candle and the energy it brought, I found myself facing some financial challenges. These challenges forced me to press pause on candle-making. It was a hard decision, but it was necessary. Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, breathe, and take care of our responsibilities. This way, we can return stronger than before.

Let’s be real: being a mom, a wife, a small business owner, and an adult trying to hold it all together isn’t easy. Add in parenting challenges, studying for my CPT certification with ISSA, and building a legacy for my family? It’s a lot. Some nights, I lie awake trying to ensure my kids are okay. I worry about showing up for them—and for myself.

A New Chapter

I also recently went part-time at my job with Rise Magazine. It's a parent-led nonprofit organization that supports families impacted by the child welfare system. At Rise, I serve as a Peer Trainer and Database Manager. I work with love and intention to help parents heal, grow, and reclaim their power. This meaningful work reminds me why I do everything I do.

With school out and summer in full swing, I'm stepping into this new season with fresh energy. I'm determined to make this summer brighter and better—not just for my kids but for me and for this business.

Exciting Updates for Illuma Candles

Here’s what’s coming at Illuma Candles:

✨ I’ll be phasing out candles that aren’t selling.

✨ I’ll be updating and enhancing my signature scents and designs.

✨ I’m dreaming up new creations with meaning and mood in mind.

✨ I’ll eventually expand Illuma to offer new services beyond candles (more on that soon!).

I am looking forward to sharing all these new updates with you. Change is exciting, and I’m thrilled to be embarking on this journey.
